The cable has been designed for outdoor underground laying. It is a loose tube construction. The gel filled loose tubes are stranded around FRP Central Strength member and the cable core is flooded with flooding gel. The aramid or glass yarns put over the cable core supplement the tensile strength provided by FRP. Steel tape armoring, corrugated transversely, forms an integral bonded par of the armored cable.
