Shielded Indoor Cable is intended for use in dry environments, such as cable vaults and channels in commercial and industrial structures, where the cable needs protection from external interference. They can be used for distribution of telephone, service intercom and sound systems. CONSTRUCTIONConductor : Solid annealed plain copper wire as per ASTM B 3. Insulation : PVC compound insulation conforming to BS 6746 Type TI 1 Assembly : Insulated conductors twisted into pairs. Pairs are stranded into units of 10 pairs and units are cabled together. The assembly is covered with a non-hygroscopic tape. Screen : An aluminum polyester tape is applied longitudinally with a suitable overlap and a solid tinned copper drain wire (0.5mm) in continuous contact with the Aluminum part of the screen. Jacket : Grey colored Flame Retardant compound conforming to DIN VDE 0472 part 813 and 332-3 category C.A. nylon ripcord is provided under the sheath for easy stripping.
