Buried Service wire is intended for direct buried installations. These wires are designed to be used as an extension between distribution points and subscriber terminal boxes. CONSTRUCTION:Conductor : Solid annealed plain copper wire as per ASTM B 3. Insulation : High Density Polyethylene to ASTM D 1248 . Assembly : Four color-coded insulated conductors are uniformly twisted together to form a quad . Inner Jacket : An inner jacket of PVC compound, as per BS 6745 type TMI, is extruded over the conductors. Moisture Barrier : Aluminum tape, coated on both sides with Co-polymer as per ASTM B 736, is applied longitudinally with a suitable overlap to prevent the ingress of water to the cable. Outer Jacket : Extruded black Linear Low Density Polyethylene, as per ASTM D 1248, continuously bonded to the aluminum tape to prevent water penetration to the core and the transport of water between the sheath and the tape.
