Buried Wire is intended for direct buried installation. These wires are designed to be used as an extension between distribution points and subscriber terminal boxes. CONSTRUCTIONConductor : Solid annealed plain copper wire as per ASTM B 3. Insulation : High Density Polyethylene to ASTM D 1248 Assembly : Insulated conductors twisted into pairs are stranded and filled with petroleum jelly and the assembly covered with non-hygroscopic tape. Filling Compound : Petroleum jelly to ASTM D 566, D 924 and D 1169. Moisture Barrier : Aluminum tape, coated on both sides with Co-polymer as per ASTM B 736, is applied longitudinally with a suitable overlap to prevent the ingress of water to the cable. Outer Jacket : Extruded black Linear Low Density Polyethylene, as per ASTM D 1248, continuously bonded to the aluminum tape to prevent water penetration to the core and the transport of water between the sheath and the tape.
